About Me
My name is Abbie Looper, I am 23 years old, and just recently started my MA in Elementary Education at Appalachian State University. I am short, only 5’1″, with brown hair and brown eyes. I love to stay active and enjoy working out (but I hate running)! I love to meet new people, I think I am fairly easy to get along with, I’m outgoing, and I love to have a good time!
I was born a raised in Charlotte with my parents and two older sisters! I love Charlotte and plan to teach there in August of 09′. My family is EXTREMELY close and I love it that way. My mom and dad got married when they are 18 years old, straight out of high school, and have been together ever since. My oldest sister, Lindsay, married at 19, and has two daughters, Graice (5) and Piper (2). My middle sister, Lauren, married at 21, and has two daughters as well, Tristen (4) and Bella (6 months). As you can see, my family marries young, so I am “out of the loop”!
I have played softball since I was 6 years old and basketball since i was 5. I was a lot better at softball than basketball, so I decided to drop basketball after my sophomore year in high school and I went out to play softball in college. I graduated in Decemeber of 08′ with a BA in Elementary Education from Gardner-Webb University. I always thought I wanted to go to a bigger school, but after being at ASU, you cannot really compare a big and small school, they are just totally different. I met lots of wonderful people at GWU and at such a small school, everyone knows everyone! At ASU I love how much there is to do, how laid back everyone is, but I haven’t met as many “close” friends as I would like!
Teachers run in my family! Both of my aunts graduated from Gardner-Webb and have several years in the elementary and middle school setting. My passion is for children in the elementary school. I absolutely adore kids. I plan on teaching 2nd or 3rd grade, but I guess you never know! I love being an aunt and I cannot wait to have my own children some day……………a long time from now

Abbie,
I am so happy to have you in our class; I like how you find it difficult to compare GWU to ASU; yes, it is like comparing apples and oranges; I am excited that you have the opportunity to experience both. And, I must say, I am thrilled that you are excited about blogging! I love your positive energy!
