My Journal Notebook
August 28, 2008
Over several months, I have heard a lot of talk about on line Blogs. Both of my sisters have blogs, which I love to visit! They keep my updated on what is going on at home in Charlotte. Although two hours away, I sometimes feel like I am still at home! I am extremely excited to design and create my own blog. I think I am actually getting the hang of it! Our first assignment is to create a title page for our journal/notebook. I wasn’t so sure how I would go about creating a title page through a blog, so here goes!
My Journal Notebook
Abbie Looper
I chose the above “picture” because I believe this is what my journal will ential. It will include thoughts about my life and the life I hope to live. It will also include the happiest moments in my life and the exciting things that go on in my life, day to day. I believe that laughter is the best medicine. Everyone needs a good laugh every now and then! Lastly, my journal will include the things I love, the things that get me through life, and the things I will never forget. I plan to use these words inside my classroom because teaching is not only about constructing knowledge in specific content areas, its about creating lifelong learners, learners that understsand what life is and how to effectively live a meaningful life. Furthermore, without laughter and love, life would be too plain.
”Live. Laugh, Love” is such a great quote, three simple words that make life so special.
Although I have not kept a journal in quite sometime, I am looking forward to having a place to evoke my feelings, thoughts, and ideas. I will use this journal for one specific opportunity, to “experience personally the power of writing”. These words are found in the course overview of our syllabus. Not only will my personal journal allow me to write down my thoughts and feelings, but it will also provide opportunities for me learn the importance of journaling as I implement this technique in my own classroom.

Meemaw….my grandmother, my dad’s mother. The sweetest woman you will every meet. I can hear her warm, soft spoken voice whisper to me on the phone, “I miss you”. In 2000 she was left all alone. She is lonely and sad from her husband’s, my grandpa’s, death. We have become extremely close and she does so much for me. She loves me more than I could ever hope for, she can brighten up my day in seconds. She has a love for life, family, and God. I admire her more than she will ever know, she’s Meemaw.
